De-google your life in 2026

Didn't you tired of those data-hungry companies feeding on your personal data, turning you into the product instead of the user?

Here is my personal takes for an alternatives to Google and other services, and the most important is, all of them is free/$0. Because, I HATE PAYING. Do you have read some of my old posts? It's the perfect example of my personality!

Browser

Google Chrome > Librewolf + Firefox for Android. It's just do it's incredible jobs, privacy customizable, and Firefox base on top. Basically, doesn't matter you are an beginner or expert in privacy terms, Librewolf is basically the Out-of-box and incredibly user-friendly. In my case, I enabled the Firefox Sync and Disable ResistFingerprinting for better dark mode. But for Android, I would just be using the Firefox one, it's supporting Firefox Sync and extensions. Email

Gmail > Tutanota. Even with it's really limited vibe, like 1 GB of size, and limited to just being personal and 1 account/person, I don't regret this one. And also, I don't like the ecosystem-like Proton, it's maybe really good to have all the services in one place. But instead, it becomes prone to monopolization. From the cover, it's really mad for being love, love your privacy. [$0 but limited]

Search engine

Google > Duckduckgo. If you haven't have any experiences, it's UI may be really similiar for me, and they're really well known. And the results is almost as big as google data. That's just works. [$0]

Security

Google Password + Authenticator > Bitwarden + Aunthenticator. There's just really no reason to use their service to saving your most vulnerable things like password. And also, it's cross-device, and open source, I still didn't found anything better. [$0]

Translate

Google Translate > DX Translate. Actually, all I need for an translate is just to using characters and the Auto language. So, it's an simple choice to me, and the UI is pretty good. Link [$0]

Drive

Google Drive > pCloud. I don't use cloud storage so much, mostly I just use my local storage, and sharing with Localsend. But if I want an future-proof, always available in cloud, and simply sharing, I would be just using pCloud, and the storage is kinda generous, you can get up to 10GB by achievements. Honorable mentions

Desktop OS

Windows > Arch Linux. If you not haven't touch Linux already, you can try by the beginner one like Linux Mint. You're must be really tired for their anti-consumen, from forced online account, nonsense bloat anywhere, auto-update when you needed to hurry up, into making the whole OS "AI OS". Arch Linux is free, open source, and incredibly customizable. With tens of thousands packages that you can install with AUR and yay, you're will really, really, really love it. And I have some commands that I use in Arch. [$0]

Music

Spotify > Local audio. I already make an post about hidden gems like this. The plus feature is, you can listen to your songs everytime, even when you didn't have internet, and music player flexibility. And even higher music quality. and you need to hear some Quadeca too! [$0]

So it's all, and I've been in my way to replacing all those services into the alternative one. I make this list, so you can use it too.
