The art of rating, grades, and ranking

Maybe it's an good time to blogging (more like yap, huh?) about something closer into my real life. In so many times, you can find a lot of things that created for your personality, but so poor received for the majority. It's happening to me. I have an 2 favorite album that's (fairly) underrated, like The Slow Rush by Tame Impala and Legion by Creepy Nuts.

Here is the truth. In most times, everyone just checking the score, and if it's looking bad, the majority will avoid it. And otherwise, they're will like it. The most contrast example is, the average user score of Legion is 64[↗]. Without this post, would you like to hear it? -- You can love it without AOTY, but you can make AOTY love it. Don't get too sticked by the average score. If you hate it, give negative review. And if you like it, give positive review. Stick on yourself.

Deep dive

The more you serious at that album, the valid is your score. When I writing at RYM, I mostly already give my score, but when I write the track-to-track explanation of how I feel in, I start to thinking like "It's has potential" ..or "I think I too overrating it". An simple thoughts never really works. Just like the way you're looking at some people, if you just do simple, you can think me as "He's just ordinary, how can he be a champion?", but if you rethink closer about him, like seeing his performance, figuring out on how he talk, what is his favorite subjects, you can say things like "He has an potential, but he just don't show it". It happens to anyone.

People who are bullied is not simply stupid and very easy to order around. They're human too, they can have hobbies, potential, and anything, but they're just don't want to show it because majority thoughts. Otherwise, there's also people that really like talking, making an Highschool-lookin average whatsapp statuses, and their life has no potential, judging anyone, but in public, he always known to be an good people. But can you hating him? Of course. Opinion is on yourself.

Pain into power

Dropping in ranking is indeed painful, there's nothing to hide. Everyone has feel it, and then just feels like giving up, and end up dropping and drop. Just keep your plans. If it's not today, then it's might be tomorrow. I have dropping so many times, and going up many times, it's really fun to remember! Instead of just selling your sadness, create your own wishlist to moving up instead, like studying more, reading more, or hobby that you like. Install apps that might helping you, If you want to make notes: Quillpad. If you like to make diaries: Daily You. If you want to be a good muslim: WeMuslim.

Being successful is not an secret, but the place is. If you want to be a good writer, Write more. If you want to be artist, draw more. If you want to be singer, sing more. Simple as that, and it's so hard. That's why only a few become winners. They don’t give up. They keep doing it. They get lucky because they don’t believe in luck. Otherwise, I lose because I believe in luck. The way I simply writing those words, arrange them into an meaningful pieces, because I writing more and more, I make those forty posts with my hand, coding hundreds projects, and there's none of my friends knowing that. And it's OK, like what the good things I should share??

There's a light in darkness

And you could be the light. Entertainment in Indonesia is such an painful industry for creatives. Generic pop rock, with nonsense bloated lyrical content without any more meaning but "We used to be together". If you're really love this type of industry which is dark, you could be the light. There's an albums from Indonesian artist like Where Is My Head? by Rich Brian. And literally no, nothing would be simply supporting underground artists like you. You can try uploading your musics to Bandcamp, YouTube, and all you get is just an binary numbers, it might be 0, or 1 (literally only you watched).

I can't just say like I hating these artists, they're all an valuable artists, and they had so much potential. And of course we make something according to consumer wishes, and almost 90% of us just like an easy-to-listen, and catchy songs, "relatable"🔫, and literally just become that somehow simply forgettable, generic, and overplayed. (I still remembered Stecu replayed like a hundred times in supermarket, and it's really distracting and such a stressful experience for people who loves music like me)

If you like to singing, producing a song, beatboxing, straight up do it. We really need people like you, innovation will never ending. And then, you lived what you're dreamed for, by your hobby, because...

Report card grades aren't everything

..but it's important!! Grades can be something that you might be deserved, or what you really deserved. Overall, it's just like an Spotify Wrapped. It's just based on what is learned in the school, but you might be better at some lesson, or worse at some lesson. If you get an high grade on some lesson, generally it's doesn't simply meant you're best at that lesson. And for any case, you can get the worst grade ever at your favorite lesson, and it happens to me.

How in the world I get an bad grades when my whole life attached to that :( (Informatika = the lesson of computer/Informatics)

In the end, it's just an numbers that are based on data. Data = FACTS. And it's will be never unchanged. It's the part of your portfolio, the document would you use in job. What kind of company that want to hire you if you have an bad grades, huh? Do you want to be unemployed-

I.D.W.G.A.J by Lausse The Cat[↗]

In the end, that "you" and "him" is me. Winning isn't always the point, you should focus on the joy that received in the process, not the ego. If I don't make cheats, I would not get an good grades, then I don't have a ranking. That's not true. uhh Rankings are simple equivalent of F.O.M.O. (fear of missing out), it's created to motivate us. If you want to get an higher ranking, study more. There's someone hurts, or someone happy, but hey, it's incredibly fun to watch!

TLDR; Just keep your plans, I hope that you never have to drop[↗]. Ah, finally, I said it.
